The story

Why Uburu exists

Uburu means freedom. In practice that means a young creator finishing a project should still own it: the manuscript, the master, the code, the characters, the catalogue.

We work alongside writers, musicians, filmmakers, designers and developers to take a project from a rough idea to something publishable, then to help them understand the commercial side — licensing, credits, revenue and the paperwork most first-time creators are never shown.

The output is a growing catalogue of creative work, and a generation of creators who know what their work is worth.

What we hold to

How Uburu is made

Creators keep their rights

Ownership of the work stays with the person who made it.

Finish the project

Support is structured around shipping, not endless development.

Commercial literacy

Creators learn licensing, credits and revenue alongside the craft.

Cross-discipline

Books, music, film, software and design all sit in the same programme.

Young creators first

The catalogue is built by people early in their careers.

Built to last

Projects are prepared as catalogue, not one-off releases.
